This is one of the warm up activities.  As we are considering 2 sessions of 50' each to develop all contents (or part of them) concerning unit 1, it would be better to open 2nd. session with this activity.



The following video explains you how to open a Gmail account.  Watch it and open your own account.  Then, send me a message of greeting so as I can have the address of your new Gmail account.  We will use emails to get in touch if necesary.

EXTRA RESOURCES FOR REINFORCEMENT OF LINGUISTIC ABILITIES.

As a way to reinforce the contents that the students see all through the introduction unit and the 1st. unit, I have considered the possibility of offering them extra material for the practice of those points which they find difficult or they simply like most.  This extra sources are showed in the form of printable worksheets, which in turn seem to me visually very appealing, so they can help students to memorize and learn English linguistic structures.  Of course, they do not need to do all of them (unless they need to! bad symptom...), only the ones they need to solve difficulties with the English language.

Videos are funny and you learn better if you enjoy what you are learning.  However, if you want to get a good mark in English, you should better be an active student than a passive one.   So, ready?

DESCRIBING PHYSICAL APPEARANCE.

Here you have some sample videos related to people' appearances which may help you to learn how a description is made in English.  In the two sections you will find below, you need to take notes, writing down every word or phrase difficult for you.  Try to solve yourself the vocabulary problem whith the help of a dictionary and ask in the classroom any word or expression in case you cannot find or guess the meaning through the context. Then, you will be asked to make up a description showing you have understood this topic.  Go ahead...

READING COMPREHENSION.

  These are two great powerpoints without any sound that you can watch to learn some new vocabulary related to people's physical description in English.  You do not need to listen:  only read the passing cards and enjoy them!  

LISTENING COMPREHENSION.  

And these are other videos.  They are shorter than the previous ones but offer you to know the word's pronounciation so as you can perfectly say them out loud.

Now, try yourself!  Choice a real friend, a famous person or a fictional one and make him/her physical description. However, you may prefer to describe yourself: it will be fine, too! Come on, it will be easy!
